The month ahead: “August 2026”

From my perspective and as I read the energy and vibe of it all, August 2026 is about time. More specifically, “wasted time”. The energies of late have be sucking up a lot our attention. Generally focusing it in one or two specific areas. It’ll vary for everyone what areas those are, but the energies have become a bit obsessive. The good news is that August brings a wave of laid-back energy. In fact, I’m going to make an odd suggestion. One that likely no one else will make to you. This is mostly because the astrology of the month itself suggests one thing, but the energies themselves have an under-current that won’t show up in your horror-scopes… I’M going to suggest you ride and thrive within the under-current. BIG DEAL MAJOR EVENTS include: Lion’s Gate, Mars in Cancer, New Moon/Solar Eclipse in LEO, Full Moon Lunar/Lunar Eclipse in Pisces. |

August 2026: “The Lion, The Eclipse, and the Bathrobe“
August begins with the energy of a Lion. A 500 pound cat’s worth of energy in the form of what the kids like to call “Lion’s Gate”. Which this year, as I’ve been saying on recent videos is very much about separating wheat from chaff as far as people, situations, and things that you give your attention and even valuable soul energy too. Many of the write-ups I’ve seen on this year’s Lion’s Gate seem to be making a big journey of the soul out of it. I strongly disagree. The fact is, you can pretty much just walk around all day in a bathrobe within this year’s Lion’s Gate energies. Which as I read them, stretch from about the 6th of the month through the 20th or thereabouts. The energy will peak between the 8th and the 10th. The wheat will separate from the chaff automatically within this energy. People and/or relationships that no longer serve your greater good will seemingly vanish. If you’re meant to be somewhere else, opportunities will present themselves. BUT…. If you’re busy stressing about some big spiritual journey and obsessively focusing on what these changes are, or worse yet, trying to hold on to things that are trying to leave your energy field, you’ll end up net net, getting nothing out of this energy. In fact, you’ll remain stuck, purely because you allowed in most cases sentimentality to hold you back. Which frankly, is common. Sentimentality and misplaced loyalties are in fact what hold most people back. Coming in a close second is fear.
IF you however approach this 500 pound cat energy like a lazy person taking a day off in their bathrobe, and take the under-current energy’s attitude of whatever will be will be/the universe has my back, you WILL thrive.. In my opinion anyway… I mean do what you want to do… But I firmly believe this is the best energy to meet the energy of this year’s Lion’s Gate with. Normally caring or trying to fix things isn’t a bad thing of course. But in energy like this we might care “too much”, and that can cause us to not allow the process of natural selection that’s trying to take place to do its thing.
2026 The Mustard Rhino year by my naming… has so far been a year of transition. Frankly 2024, and 2025 were also transition years. But this one has been a bit obsessive for many people. What I mean by that is, if I’m to sum up this year’s Lion’s Gate energy, I think it teaches a lesson that I learned many years ago. For analogy’s sake I’ll put it this way. When I was younger and less wise, I used to get very upset when people or situations didn’t live up to my standards. So much so that like many people I tried to “make things work” a little too much. Whether it was with people, relationships, or jobs etc. at some point in life, provided we’re someone who is growing our frequency (vibration), we learn the often hard lesson that not everyone or everything can or ever will meet our standards. Not expectations mind-you, just standards… I want to be clear about that. Because expectations are predictive, and standards are static energy. My minimum standard for a restaurant for example, might be something like, safe food handling, & a clean environment, and maybe clean functional restrooms. That’s different from my expectations for a that restaurant, which might be, excellent food, and a friendly staff. Excellent food is a bonus, and I can let it slide if it’s not that excellent. But my minimum standard must be met.
I’ll use the Fleming the Parrot vet nightmare as an example of what I mean. I have a minimum standard that I require from someone who calls themselves a “specialist”, or “expert”. My minimum standard for a “feathered, former military, white supremacist” (i.e. An avian Veteran-Arian) is that they would have a basic knowledge of my parrot’s species. This is especially true in Flem’s case as Eclectus parrots are very special. They’re unlike all other parrots in fact.
We had to go to 3 avian vets before finding one that I didn’t think would kill Flem the Parrot due to their what I would describe as arrogant ignorance. One vet, the first guy we went to advertised that he specialized in Eclectus parrots. Listing them in his area of expertise in fact. We were thrilled to get a hard to get appointment with this dude. Fact is, I think Fleming was the first Eclectus he’d ever fucking seen. He didn’t even know that the green ones are males and the red one’s are females, i.e. they’re dimorphic. I knew we were fucked when my wife mentioned the Eclectus’ long intestinal track to him and he asked her and I quote, “how do you know he has a longer intestinal track than other parrots, where did you hear this???” ..SERIOUSLY??
I’m sitting there thinking, oh I don’t know you fucker, maybe because we’ve read a book or two, talked to the breeders, or did a simple Google Search. Fact is I did a ton of research when I first inherited Flem back in 2003. And I did that so that I knew what I had and how to take care of him. I also know they’ve only been in Aviculture since the mid-80’s, and most only lived to about 10 years old back then because they fed them a fatty Macaw diet. I mentioned this to him, and he looked back at me in disbelief.
To be honest, my minimum standard for research and studying of topics is rarely met. When I study something, anything, I go nuts with it. I read everything I get my hands on, I talk to experts, even if I have to pay them for their time. My wife who has many degrees, often says I put graduate students to shame with my research abilities. Even with me saying that, I didn’t expect a supposedly world famous Avian Vet’s knowledge to be so lacking, especially on what is now a very popular pet bird, and sadly one that is so easy to kill if improper care is given.
I think what happens to a lot of people is they get a degree or two or three, and a few acronyms after their name with them and they just stop. They don’t grow their frequency (vibration) by expanding their knowledge and staying current. This growth or lack there of is the difference between a great doctor and an average or even bad one. But the same applies to mechanics, plumbers, computer programmers, etc. etc. Fields evolve and you must stay up to date.
The thing is. that growth, that constant learning, is a basic standard for me in people I deal with for anything. But this should in my opinion be the case for everyone. Growing our vibration and learning/gaining wisdom is the basic main root core reason that we’re here as energetic beings having this “human experience“. I myself try to learn something new every day, as do many of you I’m sure. In August, yours and my minimum acceptable standards are getting a bump. Or at the very least they’re getting re-affirmed.
So the lesson of “standards”, namely YOUR STANDARDS sets in here in August of 2026. It’s not just about Lion’s Gate, it’s also about the beginning of Eclipse season. Which ties in an equal and opposite way to the LEO, Aquarius eclipse cycle of 2016.
But this whole month, from The Lion, to the Eclipses, to the Bathrobe you should be metaphorically sitting around for it all in is all about people, situations, places, and things that either meet your standards, or don’t. If you’re just lounging in your robe chilling in this energy’s rather smooth under-current, the answers will come thick and fast. The end result will be that you stop taking people and situations at face value and FEEL them on a deeper level. You’ll base who or what you surround yourself with not just on who or what they are, but how they make your feel.
A lot of times the lesson of minimum standards boils down to “trust”. August contains within it, a lesson in “trust”. When people, places, or situations don’t live up to our minimum standard of acceptance, we lose truth/faith in them. If you dropped your car off at a mechanic, and said, “I think it needs a new clutch“, and the mechanic said back to you, “what’s a clutch??“… You ideally would get the fuck out of there and not leave your car. Why??? Because it doesn’t “FEEL” right to leave it there.
That may seem obvious to you, but whether it’s leaving your car with that mechanic, or leaving a Flem the parrot with a vet who knows nothing about his species, most people would leave it/him there despite it not feeling right. Why? Because they assume the person they’re leaving it with is an “expert”. And I might add, most people assume this for what are usually quite flimsy reasons. Reasons like…. they’re wearing a uniform, or a white coat if they’re medical… etc…Wisdom, brains, and skill, and knowledge make a doctor or mechanic or even a plumber. Not a white coat or a uniform.
August forces us to remember that trust is earned. My wife is watching Love Island with her friends. I catch pieces of it now and then. And I can safely say that despite what one of the messed up contestants would have us believe, we should never blindly trust everyone, until they give us a reason not to. Not only is that backwards logic, it’s a recipe for emotional disaster, and years of therapy visits. Although with her having said that, I figured out why she’s been hurt so many times, and could probably use some real psychiatric help. Bad logic will bite you in your ass, no matter how hot it is in a thong.
Anyway…. August will at the very least make the “trust is earned” point abundantly clear. As I hope my examples here in this write-up have.
August’s lessons are pretty effortless. Yet here’s where it can go wrong for you. If you follow to much of the generic Lion’s Gate and Eclipse season advice you’re likely to get, and spend too much time on in a dark night of the soul kind of vibe, you’ll miss the point of all of this great energy. You’ll miss the obvious.
That being said, the under-current,,, the metaphorical, sitting around in a bathrobe and chilling in August 2026’s energy provides one of the most valuable energies we can be in during our “human experience“…… “Perspective“… but there’s a bonus lesson along with that perspective… In the end, if you haven’t already, you may figure out what I figured out a long time ago, and it’ll make your life a lot happier and a lot less stressful too. Which by the way is one of the gifts August has on offer should you choose to accept it.
In August 2026, you’ll figure out that if you’re a high vibrational person most people won’t live up to your standards, and there’s no use getting upset about it. Seems simple, but if you don’t know or haven’t learned this lesson, you will keep people, places, situations, relationships, and things in general around you that are well past their energetic expire date.
As I said, August is actually quite easy… So I’ll close by saying, I often tell you to approach life like a 4 year old in a Batman tee-shirt.. But in August 2026 and frankly up through at least the Equinox in September, I’m going to suggest that you approach life like a jobless slacker in a bathrobe with 400 TV channels and all the snacks one can eat… This relaxed energy will allow you to see the reality of people and situations, rather than the smoke and mirrors of what we’re taught or told to see, or that we talk ourselves into seeing.
